Monochrome floral is a subtle take on my signature vibrant flowers based shirts. This time, I've given the design an almost sepia feel. Bold irises, lilies and peonies appear faded and vintage. Easy to dress up or down and great with a bright V neck knit.
Made from 100% Italian cotton from legendary mill, Legguino, this subtle jacquard weave is perfect under a Summer jacket, or sleeves rolled up at a barbeque. It will soften with time to be a wardrobe favourite.
We dive once again into twilit tropical forest to encounter a toucan, delicately hued magnolia blooms, intensely scarlet vine flowers and other fascinating exotic forms from the botanist's and the zoologist's careful brush. Vintage illustrations of the natural world are a little bit of an obsession around here but for this design we have taken the bold step of printing them on a 55% linen, 45% cotton mix. Usually the relatively open weave of the fabric would work against definition and colour richness. However we have found a way, as you can see. Detail is superb, saturation of rich tones from vivid red through Prussian green, orange ochre, magenta, violet and leaf, beautifully inked and shaded. Our toucan approves! On a dusky blue canvas the soft handle shirt is cool, light and comfortable - perfect for the warmer months. With a single button cuff and cutaway collar - known around these parts as a 'Harrison'
I was inspired by the wild thistles growing in the reed beds at Cley on the Norfolk coast last winter. This exclusive design has a look of the Victorian plantsman's almanacs. It's a fine celebration of our native species. Printed in Italy on 100% cotton.
Time was when a gentleman of quality wouldn't leave the house without a carnation sprig at his buttonhole. Nowadays that does seem a trifle Hercule Poirot for modern taste but I've a soft spot for this blousy flower. The pinks against the soft grey/blue ground make this a very versatile shirt.
The blue ground of this 100% cotton fabric has a trick of the eye: it looks like denim but it's not. It has a lovely smooth feel. The exotic birds, bugs and flowers were inspired by a section of early 18th century wall paper. The beauty of this design is in the range of colours, meaning it will work so well with a casual weekend look, or under a jacket.
