Lanificio di Pray have been weaving luxury fabrics in Italy since 1948 and are known for using the finest materials in innovative ways. I’ve picked this wool and silk blend as I love how soft it feels and how elegantly it drapes. The construction is a little more formal, and the shade of blue make the perfect match for a white shirt and knitted silk tie for that ‘La Dolce Vita’ look
The word ‘seersucker’ is derived from the Hindi word ‘sirsakar’ and as a fabric, it was perfect for the hot climate of Colonial India and thence found it’s way here. Traditionally made in blue and white, I like to mix it up a little. Here’s a beautiful fabric made in Italy, by Angelico, that reinvents seersucker in a wool and cotton blend. The material is so fine you can see light through it and is perfect for sunny afternoons. One of the advantages of being ‘puckered’ is that it’s crease resistant. I’ve designed this jacket with minimal internal structure so it’s super light and comfortable. Roll on summer….
Wedding? Christening? Fancy garden party? This jacket is ideal for sunnier days and smarter events. Using a super fine linen from Italy’s Angelico mill, the cut is deliberately a little tailored and crisper. Note the sloping pockets and the double vent. I chose this pale blue to work perfectly with this season’s strong prints, but it will pair just as well with a crisp white shirt. The finishing touch is the in-built pocket square in this season’s lemon grove print.

The white warp in the fabric softens the khaki to produce a subtle effect. Wear with my Matisse shirt for a contrast. Italian mill, Reda, are known for their innovation and fabric development. I’ve worked with them for many years. Here, they’ve blended linen and wool to produce a light, breathable material that is crease resistant and drapes beautifully. This jacket is unstructured and with it’s patch pockets, is perfect for summer days drinking Pimms or messing about on a boat.
I’ve used a lightweight blend of linen and cotton by Zignone of Italy for this easy-to-wear Summer jacket. The fabric composition and relaxed construction make it perfect for any occasion and the subtle floral print gives a sophisticated feel. A neat finishing flourish is the lemon grove fabric built-in pocket square. Ta-da! Instant snappiness.
