Michele Satta is a true pioneer. He was one of the winemakers who forged the great name the Bolgheri region has today. His method of choice? Blending Sangiovese with traditional Bordeaux grape varieties – creating true Super Tuscans. But, unlike many of his neighbours, he shuns larger scale winemaking, focussing on smaller vineyard areas & making boutique wines with his children, Giacomo & Benedetta, who manage the estate today. Michele fondly refers to this as his calling card. It's a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah, & Teroldego grapes that's soft, plummy & gently spicy. Try it with a Tuscan-style steak.
