Plant Hosta in sun or dappled shade on rich moist well-drained soil. Plants can grow well in a sunny border but will need to be kept reliably moist. Water regularly throughout summer until fully established. In autumn remove old foliage & apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Lift & divide plants every 3 years in autumn to maintain vigorous healthy growth.
