This history of Sudeley Castle & its award-winning gardens spans thousands of years & contains many varied tales of royal associations, wars & periods of neglect & subsequent restoration. Sudeley castle once was once home to Queen Katherine Parr, the last & surviving wife of King Henry VIII. Henry himself, Anne Boleyn, Lady Jane Grey, Queen Elizabeth I & Richard III have all played a part in Sudeley’s story. The 15th century west wing houses St Mary’s Church where Katherine Parr lies buried, the gardens, Pheasantry, medieval ruins & adventure playground are for you to explore & experience at your leisure. The castle has many fascinating exhibitions which explore the story of Sudeley’s history & the prominent characters that have visited or lived at the Castle. Sudeley’s glorious gardens are amongst the very best in Engl&, from the centrepiece Queens Garden, billowing with hundreds of varieties of old fashioned roses, to the Herbal Healing Garden. In addition to your exploration of the castle, gardens & private apartments, you can enjoy a traditional cream tea within the castles Banqueting Hall which was previously the castles stable & before that the original kitchen. At the end of your visit you can take home with you as a memento of your day a Sudeley Castle guide book & a “ Katherine Parr – Queen of England” book. This experience entitles you to general admission including a guided tour of the private apartments or tour of the gardens. Tours are available on selected dates & must be booked in advance via the Visitor Centre. You will also be treated to a cream tea for two, & a copy of Katherine Parr
