A finalist of the Ozamu Tezuka cultural prize, Igarashi Daisukes Little Forest is now a four-part film (one part for each season) by director Mori Junichi ( Laundry). Hashimoto Ai ( Amachan, Parasyte) stars as Ichiko, a girl who returns to her village in northeast Japan. Without the convenience of supermarket near her rural home, Ichiko learns to grow her own food & become self-sufficient through the seasons. In Winter, Ichiko uses black rice & sweet wine to make a special tri-color cake. In Spring, she uses fish & cabbage for pasta & soup. A film for foodies everywhere, Little Forest will make you appreciate & treasure the food that nature gives us.
