The elegant heart shaped leaves of Hosta ‘ Francee’ are deeply ribbed & edged in eye catching, jagged, cream margins. When protected from slugs, this vigorous hardy perennial will quickly form neat clumps of foliage that really light up a shady spot. In July & August this RHS AGM variety produces attractive, lavender&45;blue flower spikes that stand just above the foliage. Hostas make a fabulous addition to borders, woodland gardens & patio containers, producing the best colour in a shady position. Supplied as bareroots.

Height:
50cm &40;20&34;&41;. Spread: 75cm &40;30&34;&41;. Culinary information: The best part to use is the hoston, the rolled up leaf as it emerges in the spring. Cooking depends on the size of the hostons, small ones can be fried for a few minutes, going well in stir fries. Thicker ones are better boiled & used as a vegetable. This Hostas name  Great Expectations alludes to the fact that like most  Hostas its a slow growing perennial plant that will reward patience with a display of thick, ridged variegated leaves that have blue&47;green margins & yellow fading to white centres. The leaves are naturally stiff & reasonably slug resistant. From June to July there is the added attraction of white bell shaped flower standing above the foliage.
