The club became known as The Romans because their Pennydarren Park was on the site of a Roman fort but were more usually referred to as the Red & Greens. In 1909 they were accepted into Section A of the Southern League Second Division along with local rivals Ton Pentre and Aberdare. The Southern League was at this time a serious rival to the Football League and keen to expand into South Wales. This shirt is long sleeved and made from 100% cotton.
