The DGS-1210-24 is part of D-Link′s 3rd generation of Web Smart Switches that integrates advanced management & security functions for performance & scalability. Featuring an innovative fanless design that ensures quiet operation & a longer life span, the DGS-1210-24 provides a complete & affordable solution for small & medium businesses (SMB). Seamless Integration The DGS-1210-24
Includes:: 24 10/100/1000 Mbps ports capable of connecting to existing Cat.5 twisted-pair cables. in addition, the last four ports of the DGS-1210-24 combine SFP & copper connectivity into one port & therefore provide a flexible solution for server connections via fiber interface. Using the default presets, the administrator can quickly set up the switch without worrying about reconfiguring any settings & providing easy access for the user. Extensive Layer 2 Features Equipped with a complete lineup of L2 features, these switches include IGMP Snooping, Port Mirroring, Spanning Tree & Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP). The IEEE 802.3x Flow Control function allows servers to directly connect to the switch for fast, reliable data transfer. At 2000 Mbps Full Duplex, the Gigabit ports provide high-speed data pipes to servers with minimum data transfer loss. Network maintenance features include Loopback Detection & Cable Diagnostics. Loopback Detection is used to detect loops created by a specific port & automatically shut down the affected port. Cable Diagnostics is designed for network administrators to quickly examine the quality of the copper cables & also determine the type of cable error. Qo S & bandwidth control The switch is perfect for deployment in a Vo IP environment, as it supports Auto Voice VLAN & Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) Qo S for Vo IP application. Auto Voice VLAN will automatically place voice traffic from an IP phone to an assigned VLAN & by doing so enhance the Vo IP service. With a higher priority & individual VLAN, this feature guarantees the quality & security of Vo IP traffic. DSCP marks parts of an IP packet, enabling different levels of service to be assigned for network traffic. With Bandwidth Control, the network administrator can reserve bandwidth for important functions that require a larger bandwidth or might have high priority. Secure your Network D-Link′s unique Safeguard Engine function protects the switch against traffic flooding caused by virus attacks. The switch also supports 802.1X port-based authentication, allowing the network to be authenticated through an external RADIUS server. In addition, the Access Control List (ACL) feature enhances network security & helps to protect the internal IT network. The DGS-1210-24
Includes:: ARP Spoofing Prevention, which protects from attacks on the Ethernet network that may allow an intruder to sniff data frames on a LAN, modify traffic, or bring traffic to a halt altogether by sending fake ARP messages to the network. To prevent ARP Spoofing attacks, the switch uses Packet Control ACLs to block invalid packets that contain fake ARP messages. For added security, the DHCP Server Screening feature screens rogue DHCP server packets from user ports to prevent unauthorised IP assignment. Versatile Management The DGS-1210-24 provides a Smart Console utility & a web-based management interface that enables administrators to remotely control their network down to the port level. The Smart Console easily allows customers to discover multiple D-Link Web Smart Switches within the same L2 network segment. With this utility, users do not need to change the IP address of their PC & it also provides an easy initial setting of the Smart Switches. Switches within the same L2 network segment that are connected to the user′s PC are displayed on screen for instant access. This allows extensive switch configuration settings & basic configuration of discovered devices such as password changes & firmware upgrades. The DGS-1210-24 also supports D-View 6.0, D-Link′s own Network Management System, & Compact Command Line Interface (CLI) through Telnet. CLI management of the switches is possible via Telnet. This makes the adjustment of basic settings like password changes or firmware & configuration file uploads possible. D-Link Green The DGS-1210-24 implements D-Link Green, an innovative concept that provides energy savings whitout sacrificing operational performance or functionality. The switch reacts when devices attached to it are turned off, by placing the corresponding port in a standby mode that requires less power. It also automatically detects the length of connected cables, which allows it to cut power usage on shorter cable connections up to 20 m. D-Link Green certification ensures that the switch complies with the Ro HS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) & WEEE (Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment) directives. Ro HS restrict the use of specific hazardous materials during the manufacture of electrical & electronic goods, while WEEE applies standards for proper disposal & recyclable packaging to help reduce wastage. -Third generation design, with enhanced management & security functions. -Fanless design ideal to be used in open offices. -Power-saving D-Link Green technology now in its 2nd generation. -Solid security with 802.1X authentication & IP/MAC based Access Control Lists (ACL). -Malicious traffic & performance degradation prevention with D-Link Safeguard Engine™. -Auto Voice VLAN for the automatic prioritisation of digital voice traffic. -Quality of service (Qo S) & bandwidth control (down to 64 kbps). -High Reliability with Loopback Detection (LBD) & cable diagnostics. -Simple Web based management. -Smart Console utility for the joint management of several switches.
