The DES-1016D is an unmanaged 10/100 Mbps switch designed to enhance workgroup performance whilst providing a high level of flexibility. Powerful yet easy to use, this device allows users to simply plug any port to either a 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps network to multiply bandwidths, boost response time & satisfy heavy load demands. 16 10/100 Mbps Ports The switch provides 16 ports, all supporting the NWay standard. The ports negotiate between 10BASE-T & 100BASE-TX network speeds, as well as between full & half duplex. Flow Control In full duplex mode, the switch's embedded flow control provides a means to protect users against possible data loss during transmission on the network. When connected to a LAN adapter (in a server PC) that supports flow control, the switch sends signals to the PC regarding buffer overrun during peak usage periods. The PC then delays transmission until the switch is ready again to accept new data. Key Features 16 NWay 10/100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet (RJ-45) ports IEEE 802.3 10BASE-T & IEEE 802.3u 100BASE-TX compliant Full & half duplex support for each port All ports support auto-negotiation function MIDI uplink port for easy expansion IEEE 802.3x compliant Flow Control for full-duplex Back-pressure for half-duplex Auto correction of RX polarity reversal 2 Mb RAM buffer dynamically allocated Auto learning of network configuration
