Zuidam Korenwijn 1 year old is more delicate than Genever. Although it is distilled from the same selection of Malted Barley, Rye & Corn it is more fruity because of its quadruple distillation. The mash of these grains is distilled four times in a pot still after a week of fermentation. This gives this Korenwijn a light & delicate base for the botanicals. The botanicals that are used in this Korenwijn are Juniper, Liquorice root & Aniseed among several others. The Korenwijn has been aged in small oak barrels for a minimum of 12 months. This results in a really smooth mouth feel as well as delicate vanilla flavours from the wood.
