Jaime I is deep, rich & dark amber in colour. It displays a concentrated complex bouquet, with marked overtones of coconut, dried fruits & spices, typical of lengthy ageing. Round & lush, it has the smoothness that characterises great brandies. Jaime I is complex, majestic, with a lingering finish that leaves a velvety imprint on the palate. The Jaime I brandy has been made with very old 'soleras' aged from selected distilled white wines. Some of the soleras started off as distilled Parellada wines destined for their Torres 10 brandy, & which have been kept aside for many years to create a valuable stock reserve. These old reserves have been enriched with their best soleras, the oldest being 30 years old. Finally, to complement the aromatic intensity of these brandies with lighter fruity & floral notes, Torres have added a small amount of 1972 eau-de-vie of Folle Blanche, the rarest & noblest of grapes used to make the highest quality pot still brandies. ...

It is more than three decades since this mysterious Spanish wine was born. The label: Black. The bottle: Burgundy style. The variety: Cabernet Sauvignon. Few had much faith in this project. Certainly, nobody back in 1979, could have dreamed that it would triumph in a Parisian blind tasting against some of the world's most famous wines. Yet it marked the start of a new era in wine making: a time in which to stop dreaming & embark on a new journey, year after year, harvest after harvest. In this small (29 ha.) vineyard only the most select Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are grown. These are used to make strictly limited quantities of Torres most prestigious red wine, now known to connoisseurs all over the world. In the Paris Wine Olympiad, the 1970 vintage triumphed over some of the most famouswines in the world, including Chateau Latour. This success has been repeated on several other occasions, with Gran Coronas Mas La Plana notching up numerous other international awards. Intense aroma showing all the classic characteristics of the native land of Mas La Plana, together with notes of truffle, toast & wild red berry conserve. Great body & breadth on the palate, with juicy tannins that become balanced & elegant. This wine's noble & healthy tannins will complement the best meat & game dishes. Serve at 17
- 18deg C. * Limitied Stock*

Perpetual has been created in homage to the old vinos de guarda, wines capable of defeating time & therefore suitable for laying down. Howewer, Perpetual already reveals its elegance & harmony today & is notable for its great aromatic complexity. After the success of Torres' first Priorat wine, Salmos, the family decided to make a flagship wine for the Priorat winery that would show its commitment to the area. Perpetual is a wine born of time & the l&. Old Garnacha & Carinena vines planted on steep slopes of licorella slate form the essence of this wine from the Torres family estate. After a long ageing process, kept for 16 months in fine-grained French oak barrels, the bottles are finally laid down in the darkness of our small El Lloar winery until the desired balance is achieved. Perpetual is a homage to the Priorat wines made to be cellared. An intense wine, full of character, that was born to conquer time. Very dark, intense ruby colour. An aroma of preserves (cherry, blackberry) & spices on a highly characteristic mineral base. On the palate it has great volume with an admirable balance between the wine's fruity density & its spicy notes acquired through ageing in new oak (cedar, toast). During its prolonged, complex finish there's also a hint of chocolate & tobacco. Excellent with game, lamb stews & also with pressed cheeses such as Manchego, Roncal or Mahones. Serve at 16-18deg C. ...
