Deep red. Nose: Fruit characters of plums & bramble, with secondary notes of earth & leather. Hints of sweet spice, chocolate & toasty oak completes the aroma profile. The fruit for this wine was solely sourced from the hillside blocks of Mud House's Marlborough Vineyard. The 4 small blocks were harvested together in the cool of the night. The freshly harvested grapes were then carefully transported to the winery for immediate pressing with minimal skin contact. The pressed juice was then cold settled before being cool fermented in stainless steel. Carefully selected yeasts were used to add complexity to the blend & to retain the fresh fruit characteristics from each of the blocks. After the completion of fermentation the wine was carefully balanced & prepared for bottling. Limited stock. ...

Colour:
Pale straw. Nose: Refreshing aromas of ripe tropical melon & peach with a twist of citrus. Palate: The impression of fruit sweetness from the bouquet follows through on the palate. This richness is a perfect foil for the vibrancy of the textural components of the wine. Hawkes Bay enjoyed an excellent long warm summer with even ripening & great flavour development. The resulting fruit picked at peak physiological ripeness. The fruit came from multiple sites throughout Hawkes Bay from the Gimblet Gravels Ngatarawa Triangle & Bay View. After picking & pressing the individual parcels were tank fermented at warm temperatures. At the end of fermentation the wines were aged on the yeast lees for four months prior to blending & bottling. Maturation: Aged on the yeast lees for four months.

Limited Availability. To the eye, Mumm De Cramant Blanc de Blancs appears luminous, pale yellow with hints of green. Light, delicate bubbles create a fine, creamy mousse. It has the aroma of white flowers, fresh fruit & lemon mingled with fresh & elegant notes. Fresh & elegant on the palate, Cramant boasts crisp lime, lemon & grapefruit flavours with 'meltin-the-mouth' bubbles. The finish is graceful & lingering. In 1882, the House of G.H.MUMM acquired vines in Cramant, one of the finest growing areas on the Cote des Blancs. Its chalky soil lends itself to the cultivation of Chardonnay grapes so fine as to make a wine from a single grape variety. Born of a single variety & a single vineyard, for a long time the vintage was set aside for friends of the House. In keeping with the etiquette of the time, it was handed over in person, accompanied by a carefully folded visiting card. The name, the old-style bottle, the label with its folded corner.. . All these are reminders of this wine's special place in the history of the House of G.H. Mumm. As the pure expression of a terroir distilled through the expertise of the House, this wine is distinctive in a multitude of ways. Made with a single grape variety from a single vineyard, it also perpetuates the Champagne's 'demi-mousse' tradition. This type of champagne possesses a delicate effervescence, because its pressure is lower than that of other champagnes (4.5 bar). The low dosage (6g/l) is also attuned with the mineral purity of its character. ...
