The pale golden yellow colour is illuminated by almost fluorescent green highlights. The bead, particularly fine & abundant, rises steadily to form a light ring of bubbles. The very fresh nose opens on contrasting intense yet subtle grilled, toasty notes. These are followed by aromas of candied citrus peel, lemon & vanilla tart, roasted almonds & finally a floral hint of dried flowers & lime blossom. The initial impression on the palate is expressive & powerful, dominated by the vivacious citrus fruit, especially ripe lemon. Mid palate the flavour is more delicate, with flavours of caramelised grapefruit. The lengthy rich finish reveals sweet liquorice notes. A perfect marriage of delicacy & intensity with freshness & harmony, Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2004 reveals the full ageing potential typical of the great Chardonnays from the Cote des Blancs. ...

Talisker Bodega No. 1 was distilled in 1978 & has been finished in casks that previously held the more than 40-year-old Quo Vadis Amontillado Sherry from Bodega Delgado Zuleta. That Sherry received 97 points from Wine Advocate & was described as a both exceptional & a reference point for the entire wine style & region. Delgado Zuleta is one of the oldest, if not maybe the oldest, Sherry houses still producing. In 1978 they merged with Benito Rodriguez La-Cave, & it is from that companys ancient stocks that Quo Vadis is created. This makes the 1978 vintage doubly pertinent for this phenomenal whisky. Taittinger - Prelude Grand Crus NV 75cl Bottle

The colour is a brilliant, pale yellow with silvery highlights, reflective of the high proportion of Chardonnay. The bubbles are fine and form a lasting and delicately creamy mousse. The nose is subtle and fresh. The initial mineral aromas quickly develop into green, floral scents with hints of elderflower and spicy cinnamon overtones. Flavours are dominated by intense fresh citrus fruit which then give way to a much fuller, well-bodied and mellow taste with flavours reminiscent of white peaches in syrup. The finish is long, rich and extremely expressive. This wine can be enjoyed as an aperitif but has the structure to match grilled fish and seafood. 50% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Noir. This wine comes from top Grand Cru sites and is made from the first pressing. The level of reserve wine
used in the blend varies by vintage. Prior to release the wine is aged for a minimum of 4-5 years on lees, sometimes more.
