This is a blended malt named in honour of Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanese whisky. He is the first Japanese who mastered whisky-making in Scotland & produced the genuine whisky in Japan. Masataka learned that the natural resources surrounding a distillery were essential for quality whisky. Based on his thought, he selected two places, Yoichi & Miyagikyo, & built two distilleries there. The new releasere places the previous Pure Malt expression which was discontinued in early 2020 & reflects much more the historic style of the Taketsuru blend. The whisky is a blend of aged single malt casks from Yoichi & Miyagikyo distilleries & showcases an exquisite balance of softness & complexity. Miyagikyo remains prominent but a higher proportion of Yoichi is used in this new edition. The liquid is aged in ex-sherry & Miyagikyo remade casks. The Taketsuru logo, founders signature & brand emblem are all present on the bottle, displaying the authenticity & tradition of this superb whisky.
