Cardhu 12 Year Old Speyside sigle malt Scotch whisky. Sweet apple blossom & heathery aromas, well-balanced palate with good viscosity. Warming with a dryish finish. Cardhu is a Classic Malt of Scotl&. Cardhu John & Helen Cumming began producing malt whisky using a single illicit still at their Cardhu Farm in 1811. Cardhu Distillery was officially established at Cardhu farm in 1824 & was equipped with two small stills. Output was quite small until a new purpose built distillery was constructed just up the road & equipped with four stills. Cardhu Distillery is a malt whisky distillery situated in Scotland’s Speyside whisky region & a contributor to Diagio’s Johnnie Walker blended scotch. Visitors are welcomed at the Cardhu Distillery visitor centre where distillery tours are available & the distillery is a participant in the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival. At full strength, heady, nose prickle, pear drops & tightly integrated heather, resin & sweet honey-nut notes. Enticing. Intriguing. With a little water, still harmonious but less pronounced, allowing some malt-cereal, soft, spicy wood, moorland & faint traces of wood-smoke to appear.
