Nose: Malt, grass & dark chocolate wrapped into cigar leaves.
Palate: Plump raisins & limes rolling through dense green ferns & oak trees.
Finish: Freshly cut flowers with oak & rich tobacco.
BACKGROUND TO TOBERMORYThe s-shaped stills at Tobermory are key. They create reflux & underlying lightness. Distillery manager Ian Mac Millian, who also manages the Deanston Distillery, has kept a watchful eye on this whisky. The underlying lighter spirit has spent 23 years in Sherry. This whisky is exceptionally dynamic, keeping the light mossy character from the new make & picking up the rich sweetness of the raisins from the sherry cask. This a unique & special combination.
