This very limited release from Kentucky rye whisky distillers Sazerac has been matured for 18 years before being bottled in the fall of 2006. A true rarity, we advise snapping it up whilst you can! Part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection this is a sought after bottle of 2016 Sazerac 18 Year Rye. Using a mash bill recipe of Minnesota rye, Kentucky corn grade 1 & 2 & North Dakota malted barley this bourbon entered the barrels in 1998, was matured on the 2nd floor of Wearhouse K & emptied from the barrels 18 years later in 2016. The 2016 expression from Thomas Handy was bottled from 24 barrels that saw a 72.1% loss to evaporation & it is estimated there were only 2, 587 bottles released. - this is the 2016 edition, bottled at a generous 63.1% ABV. Named after the legendary New Orleans bartender, Thomas H. Handy. This Rye Whiskey uses a mash bill of Minnesota rye, Kentucky corn, & North Dakota malted barley. Distilled in the spring of 2010 it entered the barrels at 135 proof & matured for six years & five months on the 4th, 5th & 6th floors of Warehouses I, K & M. Only 61 barrels were selected for this bottling. Nose: Powerful, lush, & boldly spicy. Palate: Flavours of toffee, fig cake, & glazed fruit, followed by mint, cinnamon. Finish: ultimately reveals subtle notes of allspice, coconut & nutmeg. Long & warm.
