The Macallan Rare Cask single malt Scotch whisky was introduced to the UK in mid 2015, after being launched in the US in late 2014. It's comprised of whiskies drawn from 16 different Sherry cask styles, chosen by Macallan's Master Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno. A high proportion of these casks are first fill, & has resulted in a rich, spicy Speyside single malt, bursting with honey'd raisin, root ginger & decadent chocolate notes. Nose: Rich Sherried spices, with a good helping of chocolate-coated raisins & Sherry-dipped plums. A refreshing burst of honeydew melon develops with a drop of water. Macallan Rare Cask Black - Steven Klein Limited Edition Whisky

The Macallan goes beyond simply creating whisky. This is apparent in a new interpretation of Rare Cask Black, reimagined through the eyes of a master of visual ambiguity, Steven Klein. This uncharacteristic whisky is surrounded by a distinctive display of striking and mysterious imagery, captured by Klein during his Macallan Masters of Photography chapter. Unlike any other Macallan today, Rare Cask Black has a surprising yet subtle distinctive smoky flavour which still gives you the full bodied richness of the spirit’s DNA from 100% sherry seasoned European and American oak casks. Nose: Burnished amber Palate: Dry Smokiness reveals itself yielding to softer oak tones Finish: Dried fruits, nutmeg, ginger and beautifully polished oak plus dates, figs and raisins. Heavy but sweet!
