Bruichladdich Port Charlotte Collection PC6. PC6 represents a peatier release from the Bruichladdich distillery, this 6 year old is part of the Port Charlotte series, a limited release of 18, 000 & peated to 40ppm. Nose: opens beautifully, balanced on malt, peat & young spirit. the youth & strength of the spirit infusing the aromas of green apple, mild mint, clove, bayleaf & forest greenwood. given a dash of water & time little notes of meadowsweet, iris & honeysuckle put their head above the parapet but don't linger too long as the next wave of bracken & smoke with a slipstream of vanilla is about to overload the olfactory senses. Matured in American Oak & bottled at cask strength. There are six different tin designs & the release is limited to 30, 000 numbered bottles. Nose: A draft of sea spray & peat greets you with spicy pepper & lemon aromas. Then the sweetness of oak & malted barley burst through. Palate: Viscous, rich & oily. Peat fire flavours.
