Reclaimed Teak Swing Seat … This reclaimed teak swing seat will not fail to impress. It has classic rustic & chunky appeal with a bespoke feel to the whole thing due to it's hand crafted nature & carefully chosen teak peices.  The design offers plenty of support to swing in the sunshine safely.  Patching is a technique used by certain crafts people across Indonesia that involves detailed cutting of reclaimed teak to fit heavily damaged areas of the grain & restore them back to a smoother finish. Mortice & Tenon joints are hand cut & reinforced with teak dowels … This makes for a more robust construction & guarantees the table won’t develop a wobble over time. Teak is by far the best wood for outdoor use as it has abundant, natural oil content & a dense nature meaning it is protected naturally without any need for synthetic treatments. Rustic Tree Bench … Not your average tree bench by far … Tree Benches, although not exactly a common sight, are still an eye-catching feature piece in an outdoor space. & this reclaimed teak version takes that one step further adding a rustic, antique spin on what is usually a very clean lined finish. It’s genuinely hand crafted & somewhat of a limited edition so when it’s gone, it’s gone
- we could only acquire a certain amount. Comes in four pieces … When the four parts are assembled the finished unit is immensely sturdy & robust with a cracking smooth finish to the seating area that is plentiful throughout. The wheel axel’s are cleverly incorporated into the design & offer a firmer platform to fix the various sections together making them practical & aesthetic. You’ll notice they’re interspersed in the seat backs as well which helps to create symmetry in the design itself. The hand cut pieces of teak that make the supports are plentiful offering more solidity without complicating the design & overpowering its character. Look closely & you’ll see flashes of the timbers previous use another talking point in the detail &, obviously, unique to each one. The individual pieces of teak are sprayed with a light resin coating which adds protection & highlights the grain to great effect. It’s well known that teak is naturally very oily & dense & it’s these characteristics that allow it to withstand the elements all year without the application of any external protectors what-so-ever. OUR BEST SELLING RECLAIMED TEAK WAGON WHEEL BENCH. A heavy weight in reclaimed teak. It weighs in at a massive 62kg’s & is nearly one & a half metres tall & wide
- so think carefully about where to put – you may not want to move it twice! The reclaimed wagon wheel that has been used for the back support can be seen in all its glory in the back view pictured. This photo also demonstrates the way the whole thing is angled back slightly for added comfort. The mixture of worked reclaimed teak & teak reclaimed from teak in its natural state lends the bench a paradoxical feel unique to this piece. The smoothed teak feature board in the middle of the front cross support is just begging to be engraved or have a plaque added to further personalise the bench. Two people can sit comfortably on this reclaimed teak bench & the centre of the wheel bearing is used to good effect as a divider & armrest in the middle of the two shaped seating sections. The curved, natural teak arms add a different dimension along with the other supporting sections in the same style.
