This fully refurbished Rolex Subamariner Date 16613, dated 1999, is now a discontinued model but is still remains a valuable collector’s item. The Submariner is characterised by its highly legible dial and the deep blue dial on this particular Submariner features the much loved, smaller 18ct gold fashioned hour markers and slender hands, displaying long-lasting luminescence. The newer model 116613 that replaced the 16613, boasts a ‘Maxi dial’ with larger, contemporary indexes and hands. Crafted from 18ct gold and stainless steel, the case is measured at 40mm. Equipped with blue and gold coloured unidirectional rotating bezel with an aluminium insert. The unidirectional
bezel acts as a diving safety device, only turning counter-clockwise. This means that if the bezel is accidentally knocked, the crucial remaining dive time could be indicated as less, rather than more. The bezel is also engraved 60-minute graduations and luminescent capsule at the zero-marker allowing accurate and safe dive timings. The Oyster bracelet on this Rolex Submariner Date 16613, is made from stainless steel with 18ct yellow gold centre links and features the ‘Oysterlock’ clasp that prevents accidental opening. Powered by the Swiss certified chronometer (COSC) 3135 self-winding mechanical movement.
