Mentorship in Health & Social Care Course This course is designed to prepare a range of health & social care professionals for their role as mentors within the health & social care setting. The course will prepare individuals critically to reflect, explore & apply principles of mentorship, work-based learning & assessment within their practice settings. The Learning Outcomes for this course are: Demonstrate how an environment may be created in which lifelong learning & development are fostered. Apply learning & teaching strategies to ensure effective learning experiences & the opportunity to achieve learning outcomes. Effectively fulfil the role of the assessor, demonstrating the ability to assess performance against criteria. Review the role as a mentor in facilitating effective learning in the workplace underpinned by an identified professional value base. Contribute to the informal & formal evaluation of the learning experience. Critically evaluate how an environment may be created in which lifelong learning & development is fostered. Critically analyse learning & teaching strategies to ensure effective learning experiences & the opportunity to achieve learning outcomes. Apply & analyse principles of assessment, including direct observation, to the demonstration of competence, utilising appropriate criteria. Critically appraise the role of mentor in facilitating effective learning in the workplace underpinned by an identified professional value base. Critically explore the mentor’s contribution to the informal & formal evaluation of the learning experience.
