Infection Control Course This course is intended for people who work in – or wish to work in – a range of occupations where high standards of cleanliness & good practice in general hygiene are important. Infection control involves understanding what infection is & how it occurs so that we can avoid it, overcome it & stop it spreading. This qualification is designed for those who wish to enhance their knowledge of infection control or management, infectious diseases & actions that can be taken to restrict the spread of infection The course could also contribute towards some aspects of the Skills for Care Common Induction Standards in relation to infection control & prevention, the role of a worker & general health & safety. Training on effective infection control procedures is central to the prevention of MRSA prevention, particularly in the health & social care sector where vulnerable people are most at risk. It can be used as a first step prior to learners progressing to full level 2. It is one of Skills for Care knowledge & skills sets.
