Wells Gray
- Murtle Lake at 1:250, 000 & 1:50, 000 in a series of topographic survey maps of selected areas of British Columbia & the Canadian Rockies from ITMB with cartography from Canada’s national survey organization. Most sheets are printed on light, waterproof & tear- resistant plastic paper. Whilst the Canadian Department of Natural Resources (previously Canada Map Office) decides whether to provide updated pre-printed editions of its survey mapping or switch to print-on-demand only, in 2007 it began co-operating with ITMB on this new series of maps with cartography of the Canadian topographic survey & additional tourist & recreational information provided by ITMB. The maps are double-sided, with either two 1:50, 000 maps combined in one title, or a 1:250, 000 map supplemented by more detailed coverage at 1:50, 000. * In this title:* Wells Gray Provincial Park & its surrounding area at 1:250, 000, extending Approx. from 51º30’ to just below 53º & from 121º30’ eastwards to almost 118º. Extensive overprint highlights various camping & RV sites & trailer parks, places for sport & recreational activities, tourist information, petrol stations, etc. The map has a UTM grid but without coordinates being shown & cross-ticks for latitude at 15’ intervals & longitude at 30’. Contours are at 100 feet intervals, with all spot heights also given in feet. On the reverse, the area around Murtle Lake is shown at 1:50, 000. This side has a proper UTM grid & margin ticks for latitude & longitude at 5’ intervals. Contours are at 100 feet intervals, with all spot heights also given in feet. The map is printed on light, waterproof & tear-resistant plastic paper.
