- Vasilitsa area at 1:50, 000in a series of waterproof & tear-resistant hiking maps from Anavasi with a UTM grid for GPS users. The map covers part of the northern Pindus highlands, extending northwards from Metsovo to well beyond Smixi, ski centre on the northern slpes of Mt. Vasilitsa. With Samarina on its western margin the map stretches eastwards to just short of Grevena. Contours are at 20m intervals. Symbols also indicate hostels & mountain refuges. On the reverse is a black & white version of most of the main map highlighting main trails annotated with notes. Accompanying text provides more information for hikers, including the crossings of the Arkoudhorema ravine section of E6 & of the Vasilitsa ridge. The map has a 1-km UTM grid plus margin ticks & crosshairs for latitude & longitude at 1’. The index of towns & villages is in both Greek & Latin alphabet. Map legend & notes for hikers include English. Also provided is an overview map of the Pindos National Park with an accompanying text in Greek, plus an extensive list of local accommodation, also in Greek, but with several entries listing their websites. The map comes in a protective cover with more bilingual Greek/ English text describing the area. The map is part of an extensive series of walking maps from Anavasi covering Pindos Mountains & other popular hiking areas of Greece. Contour interval varies depending on the scale, on most maps it is 20m. Relief shading, spot heights, springs, seasonal streams &, in most titles, landscape/l&-use variations, e.g. forests, orchards, or vineyards provide additional information on the terrain. Place names are given in both Greek & Latin script. Local footpaths, hostels & mountain huts are clearly marked. For road users intermediate driving distances & petrol stations are shown. Symbols highlight places of interest, including archaeological sites, churches & monasteries, etc. The maps have a UTM grid & margin ticks for latitude & longitude. Map legend
