Tokyo City Atlas from the Japanese publishers Kodansha covering the central areas at scales varying from 1:6, 500 to 1:8, 000, the city’s 23 Ku wards at 1:28, 000, plus selected other areas including Yokohama, Kawasaki, etc. All place names: streets, districts, places of interest, etc, are in both Japanese & Latin alphabet, with English names of institutions, businesses, etc. Subway & railway lines are shown with names; subway stations as well underground arcades are also annotated with entrance names or numbers. Expressways show exits/entrances & other main traffic arteries are indicated. For identification of addresses, both block & chome numbers are shown; with chome, town, ward & prefectural boundaries are clearly marked. On the more detailed coverage of central Tokyo numerous buildings, institutions, hotels, department stores & shops, educational establishments, temples, etc. are named (in English). The less detailed maps covering the 23 Ku wards highlight selected places of interest. Additional pages cover the Kawasaki – Yokohama areas with enlargements for central areas, plus Yokota, Zama & Yokosuka.
