Paris at 1:12, 000 on a large street plan from the Institut Géorgaphique National, France’s national survey organization, with coverage extending west to include the whole of the Bois de Boulogne, La Défense & Boulogne-Billancourt. The arrondissements & the communes outside the Boulevard Périphérique are shown in different colours. Main traffic arteries are highlighted & the plan shows one way streets, car parks & locations of 24-hour petrol stations. Metro, RER & tram stops are marked, but not Velib’ pick up point or batobus stops. Streets are annotated with selected house numbers for easier identification of addresses. Main public buildings are named & symbols indicate museums, tourist information centre, police stations, etc. Street index is on the reverse whist next to the map is a diagram of the metro/RER/tram network, a list of museums within the area covered by it, plus an aerial photo of the Louvre – Arc de Triomphe axis. The plan is double-sided, with hardly any overlap between the two sides, & covers the city within the Boulevard Périphérique. Main traffic arteries are highlighted & one way streets are marked. Published on thick paper, traditionally used for reproductions of historical mapping, this lovely wall map will appeal to anyone interested in this great city. Coverage extends outside the present day Boulevard Périphérique, the course of which is indicated on the map by the old city walls, west beyond the northward bend in the Seine to include all of the Bois de Boulogne & part of the Parc de St. Cloud; east to include the Château de Vincennes & most of the park; south to Villejuif; & north just beyond the city walls to Clichy & Bobigny. Various districts of the city, as well as surrounding villages are named.
