
Mount Etna on a detailed, GPS compatible topographic map at 1:25, 000 published by SELCA in cooperation with CAI, Club Alpino Italiano, with hiking paths & colouring of lava fields annotated with dates of eruptions. The map covers the mountain with access from roads to the east & south of it, including the village of Zafferana in the south-eastern corner. Topographic base has contours at 25m intervals with additional graphic relief & names of various lava fields & other geographical features along the slopes. Colouring indicates lava flows since 1971, including the most recent eruptions in 2008/2009. Overprint for recommended hiking paths shows difficult passages, with icons providing tourist information: local accommodation including hotels, campsites & mountain refuges, restaurants, lava tunnels, viewpoints, first aid stations, etc. The map has a 1km UTM grid.
