Middlesex, an original antique map by R. Miller / R. Ramble, published in London, c. 1821 -1845. A lithograph engraving, original colour. Map size 19 x 15.5 cm with a mount size of 33.5 x 30 cm. An attractive & uncommon miniature map surrounded by vignettes of London's most famous landmarks: Westminster Abbey, St Paul's Cathedral, The Tower, Monument, & the recently completed Palace of Westminster. Ramble added these vignettes to Miller's map of 1821, & the peculiar rendering of Big Ben suggests a projected as opposed to an actual appearance. The map was published in Reuben Ramble's Travels In The Southern Counties Of England
