Ghana – A Portrait is a photographic celebration of the colours & tastes of the West African country. Max Milligan spent months travelling around Ghana’s regions, from Elubo to Aglao, & Lawra to Bawku, recording what he saw before him. Commissioned to celebrate the country’s golden jubilee & with a foreword by Kofi Annan, the book is literally a portrait of the nation; its culture, landscapes, architecture, wildlife & people. The image journey captures Ghana’s coast, fishing villages & resorts, its forest reserves & historical monuments, its Slave Trade heritage & thirteenth century mud & stick mosques, its Ashanti gold mines & dry northern landscape, as well as the ecological marvel of Mole National Park & the vibrant sprawl of the capital Accra.
