The maps have contours at 10m intervals & colouring and/or graphics to show different types of vegetation or land use. Boundaries of national parks & other protected areas are marked. In addition to all the usual information shown on topographic maps at this scale, detailed presentation of the road & rail networks, rural tracks & paths, etc, the maps also show campsites. The maps have a 1-km UTM grid, with margin ticks for latitude & longitude at 1` intervals. Map legend is in Spanish only.PLEASE NOTE: our grid for the whole of Spain is in preparation

Further west the map is entirely rural. On the reverse is more than half of the next edition, from 1912, & this shows how north-west Finchley had developed in those years. Christopher Greenwood carried out the final stages of the large scale survey for this map in 1824-6. Original surveys of London were very rare. Most London maps were derived directly or indirectly from other people's surveys. In the previous eighty years there had been only two: John Roque's of 1746, & Richard Horwood's of 1792-99. Original scale: 8 to 1 mile. An index of over 8, 500 streets & locations is included with this CD ROM version, with a commentary by Ralph Hyde
