The network consists of numbered junctions joined by sign-posted connecting routes in either direction. At each junction there is an information panel showing an overview map of the whole network with the junction numbers. A second panel shows all the intersections directly connected to that junction. The system enables cyclists to plan their own routes by preparing a list of junction numbers through which they want to travel. Falk maps give cycling distances between the junctions & indicate which roads, both within the numbered network & outside it, have separate cycling paths. Routes which are part of the LF network of long-distance cycle routes are clearly marked. A wide range of symbols shows various accommodation options, bars & restaurants, & various places of interest. Landscape information is provided by colouring for woodlands, dunes, etc. The maps are indexed & show in the margins latitude & longitude at 1`52” intervals. Map legend

Drawing directly from his experience as an acclaimed climate-change gardener, & of setting up a kitchen garden from scratch for River Cottage, Mark explains the practical aspects of organic growing, introduces us to a whole world of vegetables we may not have previously considered, & does away with alienating gardening jargon once & for all. Mark begins with a catalogue of vegetables that will grow in this country, explaining for each their benefits, what varieties to go for, dos & don`ts, & popular culinary uses. He then invites us to create a wish list of foods, & shows us his own list from his early gardening days. Next, he explains how to turn this wish list into a coherent kitchen garden plan appropriate for our space, whether it be a patch of acidic soil, a roof-top garden or an allotment, whether we put on our wellies in every free moment or are `time-poor` gardeners. Then he puts all the theory into practice, showing us how to look after nutrients in the soil, how to resist pests & diseases, & how to make our garden sustainable & organic. In clear, concise sections we learn about seed trays, supporting plants with climbing structures, mulching, composting, companion planting, irrigation & promoting pollination, & there are additional tables showing sowing & harvesting times, plant sizes, & alternative varieties of plants for different sites. About thirty recipes & a directory of useful addresses finish the book, & the handbook is complemented by bright colour photography throughout. Practical & inspiring, with a textured hard cover & an introduction by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Veg Patch is destined to join Handbooks No. 1, 2 & 3 as an indispensible household reference. ...

- MAP TITLES: the grids shown on our website serve both the civilian & the military 1:50, 000 topographic series. Although the areas covered by maps in both series are identical (apart from some border or coastal sheets), occasionally map titles differ – only one title is shown on the grid, usually the military one. In Galicia, the Basque country & in the Catalan speaking areas the tendency now is to use local place names rather than the often better known Castilian ones. Where possible, both versions are included in our titles. Map titles listed on our website are based on information received by us at the time of publication, but sometimes maps arrive showing a completely different title! As long as the map number is as ordered, the correct map has been supplied.
