
Estonia Road Atlas at 1:150, 000 from the Tallinn based Regio, including numerous street plans, plus a separate map of the whole country showing coverage by each atlas page, a booklet with a list of places of interest & an index, & an illustrated guide. The atlas comes in a 30 x 30cm paperback format, but is folded to only 15 x 30cm when not used to fit into its protective plastic cover. Road network distinguishes between surfaced & gravel or cobblestoned roads, shows driving distances on main & many local routes & indicates locations of petrol stations. Railway lines are shown with stations; local airports & ferry connections are marked. Also shown are internal administrative boundaries with names of communes & parishes. National parks & other protected areas are prominently highlighted & a very extensive range of symbols indicate various places of interest & tourist sights, including hotels, campsites & other accommodation, sport & recreational facilities, etc. Cultural & historical monuments are annotated with code numbers which can be used to listen to their descriptions using a special mobile phone service. The maps have both longitude/latitude & UTM grids & provide explanations on how to use them with GPS units. Also provided are street plans of 18 towns with, where appropriate, enlargements of the town centre, all annotated to show places of interest, hotels & restaurants, etc. The atlas also provides an overview map of the Baltic States & the surrounding regions showing road & rail access to the country, an administrative map of Estonia, plus a comprehensive distance table.
