Australia Drivers Atlas in an A4, spiral-bound format form Explore Australia. Arranged by state, the atlas presents each chapter as a series maps for the main urban areas & holiday destinations, with more general mapping for the rest of the state. Scales vary according to the size of the state. The road network is on the whole less finely graded & less clearly presented than in alternative publications of this kind, with fewer driving distances & less information on roadside facilities. Minor roads are at times difficult to see against the background colouring. National parks or other protected areas & Aboriginal lands are indicated, & a selection of places of interest is marked. Each chapter
Includes:: a street plan of the city centre in its capital with an index of its places of interest, plus a plan of the suburbs. Where appropriate, plans of smaller cities are also included. The opening Top Scenic Drives section gives suggestions for 26 sightseeing routes from short drives just over 50km to longer routes of over 1000km, each indicated on a simple sketch map, Also included is a comprehensive distance table & 15 diagrams of the main inter-city highways. The same main chapters but with a different opening sections are also available as a spiral-bound Australia Road Atlas, or as an Australia Recreational Atlas with more overprint & information about sights & recreational facilities.
