Road racing bikes all had horizontal top tubes until Briton Mike Burrows became the first designer to incorporate the sloping top tubes of mountain bikes into road bike design in the 1990s. The Ribble Evo Pro was quick to go down Burrows then radical route of using compact frame geometry where the length of each tube is minimised increasing strength & reducing weight. The strong main triangle provides the foundation for the Evo Pro's efficiency &, along with the compact rear triangle, allows every watt of pedal-power to be transferred into rear wheel drive.
