Jack Havoc, jail-breaker & knife artist, is on the loose on the streets of London once again. In the faded squares of shabby houses, in the furtive alleys & darkened pubs, the word is out that the Tiger is back in town, more vicious & cunning than ever. It falls to Albert Campion to pit his wits against the killer & hunt him down through the city's November smog before it is too late. ...

Molly Mc Intyre was born in St Thomas's, London in 1984 with an abnormality in the formation of her muscles. Her condition was never fully diagnosed. Her mother, Lesley, a photographer, was told that Molly would probably never leave hospital & that she might not survive more than a few weeks. Lesley took Molly home & she lived for fourteen years. Molly died at home in Putney.

Throughout her brief life Molly was highly active. She travelled in Europe & America. She went to a state school in Lambeth. She joined a dance class in Covent Garden & lived every day to the full with the complete knowledge that her time was limited. Her mother photographed her constantly. The Time of Her Life opens with the first picture of Molly as a baby & ends with the last picture of her on her deathbed.

The pictures are interspersed with some of Molly's own written observations. Molly's energy & attitude is inspirational & the accomplishment of her mother, Lesley, probably has no published precedent.

We all know that the Battle of Hastings was fought in 1066, London's 'one big burning blaze' tore through the capital in 1666 & that Britain declared war on Nazi Germany in 1939, but many of us remember the most important moments in our history by the folk stories which are attached to them. So we remember Henry VIII for his wives rather than the Reformation & Charles II for climbing a tree rather than the Civil War. But if we set aside these stories, do we really know what happened when, & why it's so important?

Which came first, the Bronze Age or the Stone Age? Why did the Romans play such a significant role in our past? & how did a nation as small as Britain come to command such a vast empire? Here, Tim Taylor & the team of expert historians behind Channel 4's Time Team, answer these questions & many more, cataloguing British history in a way that is accessible to all. This book will give you & your family a clear & concise view of what happened when, & why.

This extraordinary, magical novel is the story of Clare & Henry who have known each other since Clare was six & Henry was thirty-six, & were married when Clare was twenty-two & Henry thirty. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets & he finds himself pulled suddenly into his past or future. His disappearances are spontaneous & his experiences are alternately harrowing & amusing. The Time Traveler's Wife depicts the effects of time travel on Henry & Clare's passionate love for each other with grace & humour.
