Giancarlo & Katie Caldesi, the husb&-&-wife team behind two Italian restaurants & a cookery school in London, are passionate about food & about Italy. Their eagerness to share this with others inspired them to relocate to Tuscany for a few months, to rediscover Giancarlos culinary roots & run a series of courses in traditional Tuscan cooking.

Return to Tuscany is the result of their successful sojourn in Tuscany. Each chapter starts with a lesson, reflecting the different stages of their cookery course, guiding you through the basic techniques of pasta-making, choosing the best ingredients for an antipasti platter, cooking meat on an open fire, & many other aspects of Tuscan cooking.

In 80 delicious regional recipes, Giancarlo & Katie pass on methods used by generations of the Caldesi family, with tips supplied by their Italian friends & neighbours. They describe how to make well-known Tuscan dishes, such Tomato Bruschetta, the classic Ribollita soup & the traditional Plum Crostata, as well as personal favourite that were popular with their students, including Mussel & Clam Spaghetti with Fresh Tomato Salsa & Chicken with Cinnamon & Lemon.

If you believe that communicating with those on the other side is impossible, or that only professionally trained psychics can cross that boundary, the evidence in this provocative book will surprise you. Dr Raymond Moody, bestselling author of Life After Life & the first medical professional to explore near-death experiences, shows that it is possible, & not even difficult, for all of us to make contact with our loved ones virtually whenever we choose, without the help of a medium.

By experimenting with such items as mirrors, crystals & specially designed chambers, Dr Moody created an environment in which many unbiased, intelligent men & women achieved amazing success in calling forth visions. Here are their own descriptions, recorded immediately after, of what they saw, heard & felt during moments of precious closeness that left them confident they had been in the actual presence of their dead loved ones.

Between 1954 & her suicide in 1971 Diane Arbus took some 150, 000 photographs. Her work was first published in 1960. She was close to Richard Avedon & studied under Alexey Brodovitch. Her posthumous retrospective exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1972 showed some 150 portraits upon which her reputation was built & has been sustained ever since. Her subjects ranged from anonymous strangers found on the street to celebrities, freaks, circus people & nudists. They are some of the most daring photographs ever made. The 1972 Mo MA catalogue has never been out of print & has sold unparalleled quantities.

The great retrospective drawn from her entire career has until now remained unpublished. This is a milestone book for which we have been waiting years. The book reproduces two hundred full-page duotones of Diane Arbus photographs spanning her entire career, many of them never before seen. It also

Includes::
an essay, ' The Question of Belief' by Sandra S. Phillips, senior curator of photography at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, & ' In the Darkroom', a discussion of Arbus's printing techniques by Neil Selkirk, the only person authorised to print her photographs since her death. A 104-page Chronology by Elisabeth Sussman, guest curator of the San Francisco Mueum of Modern Art show, & Doon Arbus, the artist's eldest daughter, illustrated by more than three hundred additional images & composed mainly of previously unpublished excerpts from the artist's letters, notebooks & other writings, amounts to a kind of autobiography. An Afterword by Doon Arbus precedes biographical entries on the photographer's friends & colleagues by Jeff L. Rosenheim, associate curator of photographs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. These texts help to illuminate the meaning of Diane Arbus's controversial & astonishing vision.

Here, for the first time, are thr girls unmuted voices. By laying bare their harsh day-to-day reality, Reviving Ophelia offers parents compassion, strength & strategies with which to revive these Ophelias' lost sense of self.
