Sci-fi action triple. Jean-Claude Van Damme & Dolph Lundgren star in the original film, ' Universal Soldier' (1992), as Luc Devereux & Andrew Scott, two soldiers who were killed in action in Vietnam, then frozen & resurrected as robotic killing machines. They form part of an elite corps of anti-terrorist Androids, but when they are sent to murder investigative reporter Veronica Roberts (Ally Walker), Devereaux rebels & refuses to comply with his orders. In ' Universal Soldier 2: Brothers in Arms' (1998), top-secret military organisation Uni Sol has discovered the way to create the perfect soldier: kill the subject & then reanimate them as an emotionless machine. Luc Devereaux (Matt Battaglia) is a Unisol recruit who discovers what is happening, & together with journalist Veronica Roberts (Chandra West) he sets out to expose the organisation. However he faces many dangers, not least the attentions of the hostile mission leader (Gary Busey). When Luc is captured by Uni Sol, it is up to Veronica to infiltrate the agency & set him free. Jean-Claude Van Damme & Dolph Lundgren reprise their roles from the first film in the 2009 sequel, ' Universal Soldier: Regeneration'. A terrorist group has employed two state-of-the-art Uni Sol fighters (Lundgren & Andrei Arlovski) to seize power of the crippled Chernobyl nuclear reactor, & is threatening to unleash a deadly radioactive cloud if its terms are not met. Can ex-Uni Sol Luc Deveraux (Van Damme) possibly be a match for these virtually indestructible warriors? The fate of humankind hangs in the balance as the ultimate showdown unfolds. ...
