The tumultuous events surrounding the sub-continent's partition in 1947 into India & Pakistan are re-imagined in Ken Mc Mullen's complex & visually striking film. A lunatic asylum in Lahore provides a mirror image of the political & social events happening in the outside world. The same actors are used for both inmates & rulers. This powerful film was made 40 years after partition by artist & director, Ken Mc Mullen, adapted in collaboration with Tariq Ali from the short story, ' Toba Tek Singh', by acclaimed Urdu writer, Sadaat Hasan Manto.
