He became the new star in the European racing scene. It was a clash of the titans, Mercedes-Benz VS Auto Union. The GP of Germany on July 26 was just another round of that fight. The agile & highly talented Bernd Rosemeyer was able to handle the 16 cylinder v-engine powerhouse of Auto Union Type C like no one else ever had.
