Tamiya 1:25 Chieftain (56603) The Tamiya British Chieftain MBT radio control tank in 1/25 scale is rereleased in celebration of the 40th Year Anniversary of Military Miniatures. This is a rerelease of the radio controlled version of the 1/25 British Chieftain MBT which was first released in 1967. About the Chieftain Tank: The Chieftain tank first went into production in 1963 & had an intimidating 55 caliber 120mm rifle tank gun which was built for the purpose of knocking out Soviet tanks from a range of 4000m. The Chieftain's defensive abilities were also impressive with 150mm thick front armor plating. It was powered by a Leyland 19000cc engine which pumped out 750hp for an on-road top speed of 48km/h. From the first Chieftain Mk.1 to the last Mk.12, Approx. 900 units were manufactured. About the Chieftain MBT Model This is an assembly R/C kit version on the prototype Chieftain tank. The Chieftains unique balanced form has been accurately reproduced.4-channel transmitter included. Forward/reverse, sharp turning, pivot turning, gun turret rotation, & gun barrel movement can be controlled Pre-assembled belt-type tracks. Compact gearboxes & motors drive the tank. One compact unit controls both turret rotation & gun elevation. The gearboxes & the all-in-one turret rotation & gun elevation unit are pre-assembled. Two standard buttons are also equipped for extra channel use. Uses four AAA alkaline batteries for the tank & one (9V) alkaline battery (all sold separately) for transmitter.
