Triumph TR7 in Inca Yellow (1:43 scale)
- Built in three different factories over a six year production run from 1975, the TR7 is often perceived as a failure compared to its illustrious ancestors. It certainly was a product of its time, US safety legislation looked set to outlaw the convertible, so the closed coupe seemed the best option, & its engine, unlike its predecessors’, was refined rather than raucous.
112, 375 examples were built, a far greater number than any other TR, & that flip headlight styling is now seen as retro-cool, making the TR7 very popular in the classic car world as a practical ‘daily driver’.
