The historic zoo opened in the 1930s with the famous theme park added in 1987. The theme park has a large selection of attractions, being split into several different lands, each with its own setting and rides. These include the stomach churning Rameses Revenge in the Forbidden Kingdom and the hair soaking Dragon Falls log flume in the oriental-themed Mystic East. The Zoo itself has over 1, 000 animals, many of which can be seen from the Safari Skyway an elevated monorail which runs around the park.
