Until the 1970s, Marlborough was assumed too cold for winemaking. That's until the founders of the Brancott Estate made the region's first ever Sauvignon Blanc in 1979. The wine that started it all tastes fantastic today, some fifty vintages later. It's crisp & ripe, with flavours of citrus, pear, tropical fruit & pink grapefruit. It has a refreshing acidity that pairs very well with salmon. ...

California is where you’ll find some of the world’s most coveted Cabernet Sauvignon. This is made in the image of the very best of the Golden State – & it’s exclusive to us. Bread & Butter’s philosophy is all about simple pleasures, & their wines are crafted to reflect that. This classically-styled Cabernet is aged in both French & American oak to deepen complexity & soften the texture, making for a silky-smooth sip. Expect lavish flavours of ripe berries, mocha, black pepper & toasty vanilla. Soft tannins & plush fruit make it a fantastic partner for steak with tangy blue-cheese sauce. ...

This really does what it says on the tin. It’s a lush Chardonnay which tastes of – you guessed it – bread & butter. The winemaking team combine grapes from two very different regions to create something full but fresh. Monterey is known for its big Chardonnays, but Carneros is far cooler, so flavours are more understated. & you'll taste the benefits in this bold & buttery wine. It’s silky smooth with fresh notes of citrus & vanilla. It’s incredibly versatile, but we like it best with creamy tarragon chicken or soft, creamy cheese. ...

Bread & Butter is that thing that you can count on. It’s dependable, comforting – you know what to expect. That’s exactly what you’ll get with this wine, a textbook Californian Pinot Noir from the same winery which brought you the sell-out Bread & Butter Chardonnay. Their vineyards are ideally located for classic varieties like Pinot. It’s sun-drenched, but cooled by the daily morning mists which roll in off the Pacific. It’s exactly the sort of position that pernickety Pinot thrives in. This deliciously silky wine proves our point. It’s all about red fruit. Cherries. Raspberries. Cranberries. It’s seriously juicy & seriously delicious, with a nice fullness which is classic California. Oak ageing gives it a touch of cedary spice, & woody herb notes. Perfect with roast mushrooms. ...

It's a bold blend of a variety of red grapes, including Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon & Zinfandel, all of which thrive in California's sun-soaked vineyards. You'll find it full of vibrant cherry, plum & blackberry flavours, plus rich chocolate & vanilla notes from a period of oak ageing. Pair its velvety tannins with a juicy burger or hard cheeses. ...

If you were to ask a fellow Majestic customer what their favourite wines are, it's likely that a bottle of Bread & Butter will feature in their answer. These Californian classics are hugely popular thanks to their expressive characters. This Sauvignon Blanc is the latest member of the family & it’s already proving to be a hit. The region may be more associated with Chardonnay, but in the right setting, Sauvignon also thrives in California. This is produced from grapes grown in the north, where the climate remains sunny but is much cooler than further south. If you love a tropical style of Sauvignon like many New Zealand bottlings, this will be right up your street. Discover refreshing notes of citrus & exotic fruits, plus a touch of minerality. Its zesty fruit flavours make it a wonderful match for fish & shellfish dishes. ...

Bread & Butter 'Winemaker's Selection' Malbec 2022, Mendoza

Bread & Butter believes that good wine doesn’t have to be complicated. They made their name first in the classic regions of California, but here winemaker Linda Trotta has worked with respected Grupo Peñaflor in Argentina to create a stellar Malbec in the signature B&B style. Grapes were hand-harvested from semi-desert Mendoza vineyards skirting 1, 100m above sea level, where abundant sunshine and scarce rainfall ripens them perfectly. Deliciously juicy notes of blackberry and plum are balanced by oak ageing that adds a hint of vanilla. Well-structured and rounded, this wine is a natural match for steak or stuffed mushrooms.
