Rewrite - Desk

Description: Ligne Roset’s Rewrite desk is a little jewel of modernity and softness. The soundproofed bubble affords protection from both light and external noise and also dampens sounds emanating from within it. The natural, precious materials of which it is composed, walnut and Kvadrat Divina wool, reinforce the overall feeling of softness and security. The functional aspect is covered by a lacquered metal chest, fixed beneath the desk, which conceals transformers and electrical cables, and by a slit cable port in the top of the desk. Whilst staying connected, the user can isolate himself and construct for himself a very private space which is nonetheless still linked to the outside world... thanks to its rounded shape, the Rewrite desk can be located as a ‘point’ anywhere
in the room, be it living room, bedroom or even a large hallway. Designer: Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec: Ligne Roset’s Ploum sofa was designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. They were born in Quimper, in 1971 and 1976 respectively. Giulio Cappellini discovered them in 1997, when their 'dis-integrated kitchen' was presented at the Salon du Meuble de Paris. From this meeting was born an uninterrupted collaboration, which was cemented by numerous projects from 1999 onwards. Today, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec work regularly with a number of manufacturers such as Vitra, Cappellini, Issey Miyake, Magis, Ligne Roset, Habitat and Kréo. Elected 'créateurs de l'année' at the Salon du Meuble in 2002, they have been awarded, to name but a few, the New Designer Award of the New
York International Contemporary Furniture Fair in 1999, the Grand Prix du Design de la Ville de Paris in 1998 and the first prize in the Biennale du Design de Saint-Etienne in 1998. They were also named Designers of the Year by Elle Décoration Japan in 2003.
