The Mountfield 1543H-SD side discharge lawn & garden tractor is great for gardeners who don’t need to cut & collect grass trimmings. In taller grass conditions the side discharge mode neatly cuts then spreads the clippings so it can be left to wilt naturally. For areas that are being cut on a more regular basis the mulching function cuts & re-cuts the grass into fine particles that are blown back onto the ground where they virtually disappear into the turf, returning valuable nutrients into the soil. Powered by a 452cc single cylinder Mountfield engine with net power output of 8.4k W @ 2800 rpm, the 1543H SD garden tractor has a hydrostatic transmission with a reverse gear. A hydrostatic transmission is similar in many ways to the gearbox on an automatic car, forward & reverse speeds are infinitely variable. To move forward you simply press the forward pedal down & the more firmly you press the faster the tractor will go. For reverse press the reverse pedal, you can change from forward to reverse instantly so manoeuvrability is excellent. The Mountfield 1543 H-SD is fitted with a 108 cm/43 inch working width cutting deck with side discharge or mulching options. The cutting heights on the deck are easily adjusted into 7 positions from 25 – 80 mm. The 1543 H-SD comes complete with a towing bar & mulching kit as standard.
