This is your chance to go wheel-to-wheel extreme dodgem racing on the oval circuit in Birmingham in professionally prepared 1200cc saloon stock cars. With real life commentators race marshals pace cars & trophies for the winners it really is grown up dodgem cars! You will receive professional driving & safety tuition (as well as a few Dick Dastardly style racing tips) from the resident racing drivers & officials. Once you have been issued with overalls & a safety helmet you will be introduced to the cars. They're equipped with a strengthening roll cage & steel bumpers all round allowing you to race safely whilst taking the odd knock. A three lap driving practice session will enable you to test the handling & grip levels of the car as you drive round the 400 metre asphalt oval. Then it's time to test your skill & nerve as you take part in the first of two point scoring heats each lasting eight laps. Up to ten cars will race at once with each driver battling to get to the front of the pack & take the chequered flag using fair means or foul. - the Subaru Impreza & the Mitsubishi Lancer. Having a driving licence to be able drive on the public roads is a very different set of skills to being able to rally. The challenges are much more extreme as the pace is just so fast & you'll find you have to have reaction skills that function within a split second to be a world class rallyer. And of course you're not out there on your own. The other essential human part of the set up is the co-driver the one who has the pace notes for the stage. As you're motoring along rattling the dampers & sending plumes of dust flying the co-driver is the one who has to keep calm keep looking down at their notes & communicate the route ahead for the driver. Not an easy job. As you can see rallying is definitely a double act & on these extreme rallying days out you & your instructor will form a potentially WRC stage winning pair as you set about learning the craft of this most thrilling of motorsports at your choice of circuit including airfield circuits & full-on tree-lined stages. When it comes to the cars you can't much better than these babies. The category group N might have been replaced by NR4 in 2015 but the essence is still the same in that the cars are pretty much identical to mainstream production versions save few a few specific & limited mods that teams are allowed to carry out. So if you buy a Subaru WRX STi or an Evo at a dealers it won't be that much different to the Group N ones you see on the circuits. One thing is certain to win an extreme rally challenge you need to be consistent out there. As each rally is made up of several stages drivers need to be pretty nifty on a variety of surfaces as well as adaptable to quickly challenging conditions due to the weather (who hasn't loved a Finnish rally stage in the snow or a wet Welsh forest leg on the telly?). Go river bugging in Llangollen! This picturesque part of North Wales is famed for its rapids & this thrilling experience gives you the chance to ride those swirling Welsh waters in a river bug! If you don't know already river bugs are rigid inflatables for one person. They kind of look like the shape of a jetski (making them ideal for cutting through the water) they've got handle grips on the side & you use your hands to paddle & steer. You can lie down on your tummy on them sit up in them or even try kneeling if you dare. Whichever way you ride it's going to be pretty fun out there. You'll be in your bug on the waters of the River Dee near Llangollen & you will need to know how to swim be confident in the water & be fairly fit as (depending on water levels) you could be tackling grade 4 rapids.
