Step into those water jet pack boots & go flyboarding in Scotland! This Scottish flyboarding centre is based on the lovely Auchenreoch Loch in the heart of Dumfries & Galloway. It's all pretty picturesque but you're not here to stand on the bankside gazing out you're here to flyboard! It has to be said you have to be a wee bit mad to flyboard. You step into a pair of stiff boots that are attached to a board which is powered by water that jets out from under your feet. A handy jet ski out on the loch with you pumps the water up through the flexible hose you're attached to. Sounds too far out to be true? Time to head to Dumfries to check it out for yourself if you dare. Operating alongside jet skis inflatable rides fisher folk & fascinated diners sitting out on the terrace of the lakeside Loch Inn flyboarding is most definitely the star attraction at Auchenreoch. The loch covers a good 100 acres so there's plenty of room for the flyboarders & the other water users to play. The team that runs this Scottish flyboarding set up prides itself on succeeding to get pretty much every total beginner who comes along up & 'flying' by the end of their lesson. Sure it's going to be a wobbly & wet start but the exhilaration of rising into the air above the water & keeping it steady is unmeasurable. & it's not just beginners who have fun here. The UK's only pro-flyboarder Sonnie 'backflip' Bean trains here. He's a local load from Crocketford so don't be surprised if you see some fancy pants flyboarder doing backflips & spins out there. Easily accessible from Dumfries (it's just a 15 minute drive west on the A75) this is a great place to give the crazy watersport of flyboarding in Scotland a go. Facilities are good with the lovely waterside decking area of the Inn perfect for friends & family to spectate from. Of course it's not easy to get your balance & get up there whizzing over those cool Scottish waters but when you do it's a brilliant feeling. Strap those jet boots on & get into the loch! ...

Pro series flyboarding in Surrey! This is your chance to experience flyboarding on another level at this water & mud sports centre just outside Redhill. All the gear you need is provided
- including the rather fancy Flyboard Pro Series board. The set up for flyboarding here in Surrey is really good. The Pro Series board has super comfy boots & bindings for your feet & with the unique rotating base plate you can pivot your feet which as the pro flyboarders know is essential when doing fancy flyboard tricks. Don't worry you won't be expected to be pulling aerial twists & turns on your first attempt but if you take to the fabulous sport of flyboarding you might well end up busting a few moves on the water. Before you get out there you'll have an on-shore briefing which will show you how to stand on the board what to do in the water & what to expect when the pump & the jets are switched on. You'll also be kitted out with board bindings buoyancy aid & a helmet with comms inside. This is so you can communicate with your flyboarding coach who'll be out on the water either in a jet boat or on a jet ski controlling the flow of water into the jets on your flyboard. Book your trial flight at this training school at Longside Airfield & get all the benefits of a smaller airfield without the controlled air space & on ground delays when flying out of an international airport! Longside Airfield is just a quick dash up the A90 from Aberdeen. Situated a few miles inland from Peterhead the aerodrome was operational as RAF Peterhead between 1941 & 1945. At its peak nearly 3000 personnel were on site & the Aberdeenshire skies were filled with the sound of Hurricanes Spitfires & Mustangs. Today you can still see a few vestiges of Longside's RAF past with pillboxes clearly visible from the air despite most of the land being returned to agricultural use. You'll also notice that Longside still has a tarmac runway
- quite a rarity in North East Scotland! Now operated as a small & friendly facility this airfield which is easily accessible from Aberdeen is a great place to learn to fly. They're a delight to fly & at some point during your flight you will get to find out for yourself as you take the controls. As you can imagine from the location of Longside Airfield you'll be treated to amazing views over Peterhead & the coast throughout your lesson. & of course the longer the flight duration the further you fly over Aberdeen & beyond on your lesson. Feel the wind beneath your wings on these Earls Colne airfield lessons in a light aircraft! A good range of lesson types & durations are offered at this very well-kept flying club on the edge of the lovely Earls Colne Golf & Country Club estate. For a small aeroclub nestled between the quaint little villages of Earls Colne & Coggeshall this club is big on runways having not one but two grass & tarmac strips. This is because Earls Colne was purpose-built in the 1940s as a World War II bomber base airfield first welcoming the USAAF & then the RAF. When it was sold off in 1955 the land returned to a mix of agriculture offices & the fun business of flying. Visitors who fly in to Earls Colne often comment on how well-maintained the whole airfield is with recent investment in 2011 providing new hangars pilot briefing rooms & more space for the Essex Air Ambulance that is also based at this easy to get to aerodrome just north of Colchester. Led by Mick Manders there is a good-sized team of flying instructors & dedicated ground staff at Earls Colne so you will be able to take lessons flying out of the airfield on weekdays or weekends throughout the year. Planes owned & operated include Cessnas Robins Rockwell Commuter an Alpha 120T & a TB10
- all much renowned in flying circles as they are robust easy & thrilling to fly whether it's your first time or you're a seasoned pilot. So it's chocks aways at Earls Colne Airfield with lessons for all abilities & ages (the youngest a flyer can be is 14). All lessons include the opportunity for you to take control of the aircraft as you zoom over the rather lovely golf club & the likes of Deer Park Lily & Marshall Woods. What's more the airfield is free of controlled airspace so you will be the King or Queen of the skies on these taster lessons from Earls Colne!
