The whale shark, easily recognizable by its dark gray skin marked by light spots, as well as horizontal & vertical bands ranging from white to yellow, is the largest fish in the world. However, despite its imposing size & 34 tonnes, the whale shark is completely devoid of aggressiveness & is harmless to humans. Like the blue whale, the latter feeds exclusively on plankton, algae or even microscopic animals, which it absorbs through its large mouth.
